During the “Performance Show,” which is Tuesday night, they will announce each performer’s specific toll free number, if you don’t feel like watching the show, don’t worry, you can come back here to get the call-in numbers (for instance):
Here's a hint, in the first half hour or so of voting you will experience a lot of busy signals, after that it is much easier to get through.
Voting begins at the end of the show’s broadcast in your time-zone and lasts for 2 hours after that (they apparently enforce this through something other than caller id, so don’t even bother trying to get around this restriction). Check TVGuide.com to see what time “Idol” airs in your area.
Finally, as Howard noted, the producers seem to have the right to shut off the voting whenever they want within that 2 hour window, SO VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN...if you want to that is.
One other thing, “American Idol” uses (866) toll free numbers NOT (800) numbers, if you dial the wrong number you may get a message that asks you to call a (900) to vote.
DO NOT EVER CALL A (900) NUMBER TO VOTE FOR “AMERICAN IDOL” – it’s a scam.
