Fred Norris started working with Howard at WCCC in Hartford, Conn., in 1979 and has been with him ever since.  Often referred to as the “quiet” member of the cast, Fred’s in charge of telling Howard when he needs to break for commercials, as well the sound effects heard on the show. Fred’s talent with sound effects is so strong that a segment called “The Best of Fred” is included in every edition of “The Friday Show,” and focuses on some of his highlights from the previous week.

Fred has noted that he spent his time in school reading encyclopedias and his level of retention is showcased in “Win Fred’s Money,” a game on the program that pits Fred against listeners in a contest involving general trivia.  Fred is also the holder of the best record in the weekly game played on the show, Mike Walker’s “Gossip Game.” Fred plays lead guitar and sings for King Norris, a band he formed in the 1990s.

Fred is married to the beautiful Allison Norris, whom he met when Allison won a date with him during a Dial-A-Date segment on the show.  Fred and Allison have a young daughter together.
