Throughout the year Howard shares it all on the air, including what he likes and dislikes in pop culture.  We went through our logs and pulled out some of the things Howard's praised in 2014 (even if they didn't debut in 2014).  So here is a sort-of ‘Best Of’ from the many things Howard enjoyed watching and reading and listening to in 2014.


Howard continues to watch his favorites like Walking Dead and Girls, he’s also loving new stuff like the Showtime series ‘The Affair’, the FX series ‘The Strain’, the HBO show ‘The Leftovers’ and the Netflix series ‘House of Cards’.

A long time fan of Saturday Night Live, Howard recently pointed to Vanessa Bayer's recurring character Bar Mitvah Boy as one of his favorites.

Howard started watching The Eric Andre Show this year and thinks it’s a really funny show.

During a heated discussion on-air, Howard named ‘Young Frankenstein’, ‘Back to School’, ‘Animal House’, ‘Stripes’, ‘Caddyshack’, ‘The Jerk’ and the funniest movies of all time.

Howard was reminded of how much he loved the classic ‘Coming to America’ and suggested director John Landis make a sequel every single year.

Howard loved Jason Reitman’s movie ‘Labor Day’ and the Wolf of Wall Street too, even if it was a little bit long.

He also dug Gravity, Saving Mr. Banks, Blue Jasmine, and Lone Survivor. And most recently Howard took to Twitter to profess his love for the new Bradley Cooper/Clint Eastwood movie American Sniper

As for music, Howard really got into the band Royal Blood and their song ‘Figure it Out’.

He professed his love for Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails, naming them the best band of the 1990s while also naming  ‘The Rising’ the best Bruce Springsteen song ever.

In the summer, Howard got into the classic live album ‘Frampton Comes Alive!

He really dug Rob Zombie’s cover of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ and revealed that he loves LeeAnn Rhimes’ version of ‘Amazing Grace’.


Howard mentioned really liking the work of painters Edward Hopper and John Sell Cotman and artist Drew Freidman.
