GARY'S FIRST PITCH: 5TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Friday, May 9th on Sternthology (5:25p EST on H101)
It was May 9, 2009 when Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate threw the "first pitch heard 'round the world" at Citi Field before a Mets game.
It was one of the all-time worst throws in first pitch history and 5 years later, it is still the benchmark by which all other first pitches are measured. Others have come close, but no one "Baba Booeyed" it worse than Gary that day!
On the 5th anniversary (Friday 5/9/14) hear the unforgettable aftermath from Gary's goof - including an insane amount of ball busting by Artie Lange, followed by the rest of the staff and audience piling on.
Then relive it all weekend long with a marathon of the radio moments chronicling the before, during, after and way after Gary's infamous pitch.
From Gary's pre-pitch anxiety dreams to his ill-advised "do-over" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! over a year later. The marathon will feature host Kevin Burkhardt and MLB experts Jim Bowden, Jim Duquette and Hall Of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. all offering their expert analysis of Gary's first pitch.
The weekend long First Pitch Marathon begins Saturday at approximatly 11am on Howard 101!
