Joe Manganiello has been revealed as the man behind the Deathstroke mask. The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that the “Magic Mike” stud had been cast as the villain for Ben Affleck’s upcoming movie, “The Batman,” the first solo flick featuring Affleck as the Dark Knight.

In August, Ben broke the initial big time Bat-News in a tweet (below) that revealed Deathstroke as the Caped Crusader’s next foe.

Affleck’s post didn’t explicitly say that Deathstroke, a.k.a. Slade Wilson, would be the villain of the Batman standalone, currently titled “The Batman.” But the news was quickly confirmed by TheWrap’s Umberto Gonzalez.

Deathstroke is a cult favorite among DC Comics villains. The mercenary and deadly assassin previously appeared on the WBTV-produced CW series “Arrow,” where he squared off against the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), another member of the Justice League. But Deathstroke’s appearance in “The Batman” will mark the character’s big screen debut.

Affleck’s Dark Knight, meanwhile, recently starred in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Batman also had a cameo in the box office hit “Suicide Squad” and will play an integral part in the first “Justice League” film, currently in production. “The Batman” will likely hit theaters sometime after “Justice League” but before DC’s next ensemble installment, “Justice League Part Two.”
