Even cold-blooded creatures need to cool off every once in awhile, as was evidenced recently in Southern India after a rescued king cobra chugged H2O from a water bottle.
While king cobras, a.k.a. the world's largest venomous snake, are normally quite deadly, this one apparently wandered into a village in Karnataka recently amid a draught and was willing to play nice with humans in exchange for some water, according to reports.
According to the description accompanying the footage uploaded to YouTube, a wildlife rescue worker then approached the animal with outstretched hand, allowing the serpent to politely sip from his bottle. Somewhere, the man recently attacked by a snake while taking a selfie, is shaking his head in disbelief.
