VIDEO: A ‘Game of Thrones’ Escape Room Is Coming to South by Southwest
SXSW 2017: HBO also announces “Veep” and “Silicon Valley”-themed rooms

South by Southwest is coming, and with it a “Game of Thrones”-themed escape room.
HBO announced plans on Monday for an immersive “interactive fan experience” at Austin’s annual music and culture festival, including escape rooms based on three of its popular shows: “Veep,” “Silicon Valley,” and “Thrones.”
While the theme of each room will be vastly different, they will all be interconnected, as participants must find clues in one room in order to unlock the door to the next.
What’s the reward for fans who complete all three rooms? A chance to take a photo from atop the Iron Throne. Winning teams will also get the opportunity to sample a new “Game of Thrones” wine, which will hopefully not be similar to the kind Joffrey drank. For those who don’t make it through all three rooms—or those who won’t be attending South by Southwest—the official “Game of Thrones” Chardonnay, Cabernet, and Red Blend will be hitting shelves sometime this spring.
