MTV Reveals Nominees for First Ever Movie and TV Awards

Past Stern Show guests recognized include Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Hugh Jackman, Seth MacFarlane, Seth Rogen, Snoop Dogg, and more

MTV on Wednesday revealed the nominees for the 2017 Movie and TV Awards.

Leading the pack of nominees for this year’s show—the first to recognize TV in addition to film—is Jordan Peele and his darkly comedic thriller “Get Out,” which is up for six awards including Best Fight Against the System.

Meanwhile, 2009 Stern Show guest Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie—”Logan”—earned him and his film three nominations, including for “Movie of the Year,” and November guest Jeffrey Dean Morgan is up for Best Villain and Best TV Actor for his turn as Negan on AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

Other past guests and Stern Show favorites nominated this year include Seth Rogen (for “Sausage Party”), Adam Levine (for “The Voice”), Ellen DeGeneres (for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”), Seth MacFarlane (for “Family Guy”), Will Arnett (for “The Lego Batman Movie”), and Snoop Dogg (for “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party“).

Also scoring multiple nominations are “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and FX’s “Atlanta,” among others.

The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards airs Sunday, May 7. Fans can vote for winners on MTV.com.
