“Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage switches gears from fantasy to science-fiction in “Rememory,” an upcoming film which sees the actor attempting to solve a murder by essentially climbing inside the victim’s brain.

The recently released trailer (above) begins with the shooting of a tech-entrepreneur who has invented a gizmo allowing users to record and relive their own memories. Thankfully, the dearly departed was wearing one of the devices himself at the time of his death, which enables investigator Sam Bloom (Dinklage) to surf through his memories in the hopes of catching the bad guy.

In addition to playing Tyrion Lannister for seven seasons on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Dinklage has starred in a variety of films, including “The Station Agent,” “Pixels,” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” He’s also slated to appear in Marvel’s upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War,” though his role has not yet been revealed.

“Rememory” co-stars Anton Yelchin (“Star Trek Beyond”) as a troubled mechanic who seems to have been personally affected by the machine’s disastrous side effects, as well as Julia Ormond, Henry Ian Cusick, Évelyne Brochu, and Martin Donovan.

“Rememory” debuts Aug. 24 on Google Play before hitting theaters Sept. 8. Watch the trailer (above).
