It’s good to be king, especially when it comes to award shows.

On Thursday, the MTV Movie & TV Awards unveiled its crop of 2018 nominees. Leading the pack on the film side with seven nominations is “Black Panther,” Marvel’s billion-dollar blockbuster starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the claw-wielding ruler of Wakanda.

Superhero films did well in general, with Marvel’s newly released “Avengers: Infinity War” scoring multiple nominations along with “Thor: Ragnarok” and Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman.”

On the TV side, Netflix’s sci-fi series “Stranger Things” earned the most nominations with six, including Best Performance in a Show nomination for its young star Millie Bobby Brown.

Other notable nominees include Emily Blunt for “A Quiet Place,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Flash,” Kate McKinnon for “Saturday Night Live,” Adam Driver for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine's rock doc "The Defiant Ones," Tiffany Haddish for “Girls Trip,” and Amy Schumer for her “I Feel Pretty.”

When Schumer returned to the Stern Show in April, the actress-comedian opened up to Howard about her new comedy, explaining its message is about realizing good looks only run skin deep and that confidence in one’s self is what really matters. Listen to a clip from her conversation with Howard (below).

In addition to being nominated, Haddish will also host the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, airing Monday, June 18 at 9 p.m. from Los Angeles. Check out the full list of nominees (below).
