‘Til death do us part takes on new meaning in the trailer for Season 3 of “Santa Clarita Diet,” Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant’s zombie comedy returning to Netflix later this month.

The clip begins with Sheila Hammond (Barrymore) and her husband Joel (Olyphant) spying on a neo-Nazi from their car. Sheila, a zombie, thinks he would make a delicious meal. “He’s like a walking protein shake,” she says, licking her lips.

Soon she comes to the realization that her undead lifestyle is bizarre and more than a bit bloody, but it also comes with some perks. For starters, she’s essentially immortal so long as she keeps feeding on human flesh. Her husband, however, is not, but Sheila hopes to remedy that.

“We can spend eternity together if you let me bite you,” Barrymore’s character tells him (above). “What do you say, Mr. Hammond, will you take this woman to be your wife for the next thousand years or so?”

Joel isn’t too keen on the idea, but he also doesn’t want to disappoint his wife. The trailer shows him weighing his options while he and his wife flee from zombie hunters, feed their pet mutant spider, and deliberate having sex in a spot where she’s just devoured a human. It’s a unique relationship, to be sure.

As Stern Show fans may remember, Drew discussed several of her real-life relationships with other celebrities during her debut sit-down with Howard back in 2015. In addition to speaking about her friendships with fellow Stern Show veterans David Letterman and Adam Sandler, she also spoke of her love for Howard himself.
