VIDEO: ‘Black Panther’ Hero Chadwick Boseman Scours Manhattan to Catch Cop Killers in ’21 Bridges’

J.K. Simmons also stars in the action-thriller produced by “Avengers: Endgame’s” Joe and Anthony Russo

A score of N.Y.P.D.’s finest are murdered during a drug bust gone horribly awry in “21 Bridges.” Now, it’s up to “Black Panther’s” Chadwick Boseman to bring the bad guys to justice.

Boseman stars as Detective Andre Davis, a second generation police officer with a reputation for being hard on cop killers. Keith David and Oscar-winning Stern Show guest J.K. Simmons co-star as senior officers who entrust Davis with running the city-wide manhunt for the killers precisely because of his take-no-prisoners attitude.

The deeper Boseman digs into the botched drug bust, the more his character realizes a bigger conspiracy may be at play. To solve the mystery he will first need to catch the perpetrators and get some answers—and that means locking down the whole island.

“Close the island. We’ve got 21 bridges in and out of Manhattan. Shut them down,” Boseman says in the trailer. “Then we flood the island with blue.”

“21 Bridges” is directed by Brian Kirk (“Game of Thrones”) and produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers who directed Boseman in “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Captain America: Civil War.” The film also features Stephan James, Sienna Miller, and Taylor Kitsch.

“21 Bridges” is coming soon. Watch the official trailer (above).
