Jon Snow sheds a few tears in the trailer for “The Last Watch,” HBO’s upcoming documentary special offering a behind-the-scenes look at the eighth and final season of its wildly popular fantasy series “Game of Thrones.”

Directed by Jeanie Finlay, a British filmmaker embedded with the cast and crew during the production of the last batch of episodes, the two-hour special purports to offer an unprecedented look at how one of TV’s most expansive shows sought to wrap things up after a critically acclaimed eight-year run.

The clip begins with showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss looking on as dozens “Game of Thrones” cast members, including Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, and Emilia Clarke, partake in the series’ final table read. Harington, who stars as Iron Throne contender Jon Snow, is quite clearly in tears.

“This is strange,” Weiss tells the group. “Here we are at the last table read. It’s like looking around and seeing your family.”

“Game of Thrones: The Last Watch” debuts on May 26—just one week after this weekend’s series finale. Watch the trailer for Sunday’s final “Game of Thrones” episode (below).
