Stern Show guest Brandi Carlile has just raised the bar on Mother’s Day presents.

The award-winning entertainer and 2018 Stern Show guest released a new music video on Wednesday for her song “The Mother.” Directed by Jess Lowe and dedicated to moms across the globe, the clip highlights a variety of strong women as they tirelessly engage in motherly duties ranging from breastfeeding, diaper changing, and stroller hauling to coaching Little League baseball games and teaching karate.

The tune hails from Brandi’s Grammy-winning album “By the Way, I Forgive You,” which the singer-songwriter joined the Stern Show to promote last year. Brandi spoke highly of her own mother during that sit-down with Howard, telling him it was her mother’s love of singing which inspired her to begin performing in the first place. She also opened up about her own motherly experiences, discussing how she previously published an alternate music video for “Mother” which ends with her receiving an adorable kiss from her daughter Evangeline.

“I was really proud of it and proud of her,” Brandi told Howard.

Brandi’s official music video for “Mother” lands just a few days after the musician revealed the lineup for her second Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival in Mexico and just a few hours after the Newport Folk Festival announced Brandi’s all-female supergroup the Highwomen, which also includes Stern Show guest Maren Morris, will be performing at the Rhode Island event this July.

Brandi Carlile’s “By the Way, I Forgive You” is available now.
