Dannys DeVito and Glover get one heck of a makeover in the action-packed trailer for “Jumanji: The Next Level,” opening Dec. 13.
The sequel to the blockbuster 2017 film once again follows four high school kids sucked into a life-or-death video game who are forced to take control of fully realized-adult avatars in the hopes of completing increasingly difficult quests. Unlike in the last film, however, the kids are joined by two older men (Danny DeVito and Danny Glover) who ultimately get transformed into Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, respectively.
As if waking up in someone else’s skin wasn’t strange enough, the group—which also includes returning stars Karen Gillan ("Avengers: Endgame"), Jack Black, and Nick Jonas (“Kingdom”)—must also overcome a deluge of deadly in-game perils ranging from angry ostriches and man-eating anacondas to arid deserts and snowy mountains.
Directed by Jake Kasdan, the latest “Jumanji” film also stars recent “Saturday Night Live” host Awkwafina alongside Morgan Turner, Madison Iseman, Ser'Darius Blain, and Alex Wolff.
“Jumanji: The Next Level” opens Dec. 13 in theaters. Watch the official trailer (above).
