The comic book-inspired, Hell's Kitchen-set crime film opens Aug. 9

Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, and repeat Stern Show guest Melissa McCarthy cook up trouble in the final trailer for their housewives-turned-gangsters crime flick “The Kitchen,” opening in August.

Based on a comic book series from DC Vertigo, the film follows Kathy (McCarthy), Ruby (Haddish), and Claire (Moss), the wives of three Irish mobsters who just got busted by the feds. The trio struggles to make ends meet with their husbands behind bars, so they decide to take a crack at running Hell’s Kitchen themselves.

Set to a cover of “The Chain” by the Highwomen—a country supergroup featuring recent Stern Show guests Maren Morris and Brandi Carlile as well as Amanda Shires and Natalie Hemby—the trailer shows the resilient women stocking up on firearms, running numbers, planning heists, and eliminating any guys who get in their way.

“All these men working these streets and not a solid set of balls anywhere,” Haddish’s character says.

Written and directed by Andrea Berloff (“Straight Outta Compton”), “The Kitchen” also stars Domhnall Gleeson, James Badge Dale, Brian d’Arcy James, Margo Martindale, and Common.

“The Kitchen” opens Aug. 9.
