Track hails from the Stern Show guest’s upcoming album “Threads”

August 26, 2019

Sheryl Crow has released another star-studded song off her collaboration-heavy album “Threads,” out next Friday.

The Grammy-winning superstar and 2017 Stern Show guest teamed up with guitar virtuoso and fellow Stern Show veteran Gary Clark Jr., Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage rapper Chuck D, and singer-songwriter Andra Day on “Story of Everything,” a funky new tune with a thought-provoking message.

“Story of Everything” is the seventh single Sheryl has released from “Threads,” which she previously announced would be her final studio album. It follows songs like “Prove You Wrong” with Maren Morris and Stevie Nicks, “Tell Me When It’s Over” with Chris Stapleton, “Still the Good Old Days” with Joe Walsh, and her cover of Bob Dylan’s “Everything Is Broken” with recent Stern Show performer Jason Isbell.

Sheryl last stopped by the show in 2017 and opened up to Howard about her past interactions with a variety of other A-list artists, from Prince to Michael Jackson. Clark Jr., meanwhile, joined the Stern Show for the first time in February. He spoke to Howard about everything from how he wooed his wife with a trip to Coachella to why he first decided to play the guitar. He and his band also performed a few songs in studio, including “This Land.” Check it out (below).

Sheryl Crow’s “Threads” is available Aug. 30. Hear her new tune “Story of Everything” featuring Gary Clark Jr., Chuck D, and Andra Day (top).
