An ensemble cast of Hollywood stars brings one of World War II’s most pivotal battles to life in the latest trailer for Roland Emmerich’s action-packed epic “Midway,” arriving Veterans Day weekend.

Set just a few months after the attack on Pearl Harbor pulled the United States into the second world war, the film follows the American fleet as it prepares to take on the Japanese Navy in the legendary Battle of Midway, which proved to be a turning point in the Pacific Theater “If we lose, then the Japanese will own the West Coast—San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles will burn,” a dive bomber pilot played by Ed Skrein (“Game of Thrones,” “Deadpool”) explains (above).

Repeat Stern Show guest Woody Harrelson stars as Admiral Chester Nimitz, the real-life fleet admiral whose role in WWII was so crucial the U.S. Navy wound up naming a class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers after him. “We need to throw a punch, so they know what it feels like to be there,” Harrelson tells an intelligence officer played by Patrick Wilson.

The trailer is brimming with dogfights, explosions, and all manner of military heroics as well as brief glimpses of the rest of the star-studded cast, including Dennis Quaid, Luke Evans, Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Etsushi Toyokawa, Darren Criss, and 2018 Stern Show guest Mandy Moore, who plays Skrein’s supportive wife, Ann Best.

“I don’t know how to lead these men,” he tells her on the eve of the big battle.

“They’ll follow you anywhere,” Mandy’s character responds.

“Midway” opens Nov. 8.
