Beatles Release Official ‘Here Comes the Sun’ Music Video on 50th Anniversary of ‘Abbey Road’

2019 mix of iconic song is celebrated with a dreamy new clip

September 26, 2019

Fifty years to the day that “Abbey Road” was released, The Beatles have unveiled a new video for “Here Comes the Sun,” just one of the album’s many monster hits.

The George Harrison-penned song, which helped the guitarist receive acclaim as a songwriter that was usually given to the band’s primary songwriters (John Lennon and Paul McCartney), is set to a beautiful clip featuring photographs of the band taken by none other than Linda McCartney, Paul’s deceased former wife. As the images float throughout Abbey Road Studios, they eventually make their way above Ringo Starr’s drum kit, forming a large, radiant sun.

While “Abbey Road” is their second to last album, its notable for being the final one recorded with the entire Fab Four together as a band. The video comes ahead of the 50th anniversary reissue of the album, containing remixes of all 17 original tracks as well as 23 additional recordings.

In February of this year, Gary Clark Jr. and his band played for Howard their cover of another famous track off that album, “Come Together.” Watch the video of their high-powered performance (below).

The 50th anniversary reissue of “Abbey Road” is available Sept. 28.
