The Byrdes are back in business in the official trailer for “Ozark” Season 3, arriving later this month on Netflix.
Laura Linney and Stern Show veteran Jason Bateman star on the Missouri-set crime drama as a married couple whose money laundering empire is booming while their relationship struggles to survive. The clip begins with Wendy Byrde (Linney) pointing a gun at her husband Marty (Bateman). “Sometimes if you don’t move forward, you die,” she says in an ominous voiceover.
As the trailer continues, we see the couple has gone all-in on The Missouri Belle, the riverboat casino they’d been talking about last season. Business is good but more success means more criminal adversaries coming out of the woodwork. Another new character who makes an appearance in the trailer is a marriage counselor, who Marty is paying off on the side. “I believe that you and Wendy can be happy,” the counselor tells him at one point (above).
“Save it,” Bateman’s character responds before throwing her a stack of cash. “I’m not bribing you so we can be happy.”
Bateman has been nominated for multiple Emmys for “Ozark,” which he also executive produces and directs. In 2019, he took home the Outstanding Directing prize while his co-star Julia Garner won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
“Ozark” Season 3 arrives March 27.
