Alanis Morissette and her dog, Skippy, stopped by the studio for the final time to say goodbye. Howard told Alanis that he learned she used to be both anorexic and bulimic, so he asked her for the details. Alanis explained that she was so obsessed with her body image as a teenager that she'd either stop eating entirely, or binge eat and then make herself throw up.
After refusing Howard's request to demonstrate how she induced her own vomiting, Artie mentioned that he could relate to the idea of making yourself throw up, because he had many such experiences during his days as a heavy drinker. Alanis said that, thanks to some of her friends who were brave enough to call her out on her eating habits, she got her problems under control, and now believes that people shouldn't put so much emphasis on looking perfect.
One Last Ditty
Alanis sang her song, "Thank U," with the accompaniment of her guitar player, Dave, and dedicated it to both Howard and his fans. Howard commented that although the performance gave him chills, he felt like the lyrics should've been more specifically about him.
Howard then played "Crazy," a Seal cover that is on Alanis' new album, "The Collection."
Howard went on to tell Alanis how he plans on moving The Robo Spanker, The Tickle Chair and The Wheel of Sex to his new home during his final broadcast, and that he hopes she visits the show on SIRIUS. Alanis responded that she will, and that she's looking forward to having conversations with him that are a bit more revealing than the ones they've already shared.
