Because Artie felt that his initial revelation for the cliffhanger show wasn't up to snuff, he said that he told Will another secret during the commercial break.
Artie went on to note that his new secret will cause everyone to look at him in a different way, and that only a few people know about it. In fact, Artie also said that he's been going to the same therapist for quite a while, but that he hasn't even told him about his secret.
Since Artie had picked another secret for the cliffhanger show, he talked about his original revelation.
Artie mentioned that when he was 18, he and a friend stole a car in order to pay off their gambling debts. However, Artie noted that he and his friend decided to scrap the plan when another of their friends told them that the lot from which they stole the car was where "connected" guys parked when they played poker.
Given this, Artie said he and his friend went back to return the car, but that the watchman, who had fallen asleep when they made the heist, was talking to police about the incident. Artie added that he and his friend ditched the car 100 yards from the site of the incident and ran as fast as they could.
Preparing for Plan B
After Artie explained that he was eventually able to settle his debt with money he earned as a roofer and longshoreman, Howard noted that he'd ask Tom again if they could do the cliffhanger show on Friday. Howard went on to say, though, that if they don't get permission to do so, the new plan will be to bring up the individual revelations during the first satellite broadcast, and then reveal which secret belongs to which person a week later.
