Howard jumped right into the Gossip Game with Mike. Every week, The National Enquirer's Mike Walker reads 4 stories. Three are real and one is fake, everybody tries to guess which one is fake.
Here are this week's stories:
1. Madonna, a recent convert to Kabbalah, tried to get into the VIP section at the Pope's funeral but she was refused by the church.
2. In an effort to block out his legal woes, Michael Jackson plays spoken word tapes of fairy tales on his drive into court. He makes everyone remain quiet and listen the entire time.
3. Britney Spears was recently told by her doctor to remove her belly button piercing to limit the risk of getting an infection during her pregnancy. Her husband Kevin had the piercing put on a Tiffany necklace along with a lucky charm of a baby girl.
4. When asked to buy cookies by a group of Girl Scouts, Simon Cowell couldn't be bothered. To save the day, Paula Abdul bought all of their cookies for about $300. She then offered them to everyone on the show - except for Simon.
Howard picked story 1 as the fake one. Robin and Artie went with number 2 and Fred went with story 3. The actual false story was number three. Lucky Fred!
Before he signed off, Mike couldn't help but notice that, when he was on the show last week, Donald Trump was very critical of Dan Rather. Mike went on to point out that his book, "Rather Dumb: A Top Tabloid Reporter Tells CBS How To Do News," is also critical of the former CBS News anchor. Howard thought this must mean that Donald read Mike's book.
