Comedian Nick DiPaolo stopped by this morning to sit in on the news. Artie mentioned that Nick had a part as a cop in his movie. He said they must have seen him play a cop in an episode of "The Sopranos" because he didn't even have to audition. Nick said he was looking forward to shooting his scene between 2 and 2:15pm Saturday afternoon. Artie said he had a really great line for Nick, but Nick said he had read the script and didn't remember any jokes for his character. Howard said there was some kind of mix-up in Nick's dates because he was originally supposed to come in on Thursday of this week. Nick was not happy with his manager for booking him on Thursday morning to promote a show he's doing Wednesday night, (at Caroline's, this Wednesday night in New York). Nick was also promoting a show he's doing that will air in the fall called "Whack TV Planet" on VH1. Nick said the whole show is about making fun of bad foreign TV shows. Artie said he did an episode with Nick and they had so much fun, he doubted they'd be able to air any of it. Howard then said he heard that Nick once punched someone in the audience at a comedy club. Nick said this was true, but the other guy started it. He had been giving Nick the finger, plus Nick may have been a little jet lagged at the time. Howard thought it might be a good idea not to try giving Nick the finger at Caroline's tomorrow night. Artie talked a little about meeting Nick for the first time at an audition. They had to do a scene together and Artie thought Nick looked as though he was going to punch him the entire time, (fortunately he didn't). Towards the end of the show, High Pitch Eric called to ask Nick if his hair was real and if Nick wanted to go out, get ice cream and do a comedy show with him. Nick said he his hair was fake, which seemed to surprise Eric -- probably because its not -- and that he'd love to let Eric do a bit in his show at Governors on Long Island Wednesday night, (too bad for Eric, the Wednesday night show is at Caroline's).
