Artie revealed he and Dana spent the night together after the show in his room at the Ritz-Carlton, but Howard still wasn't "buying" that the two were a couple again. Howard explained he didn't get "the vibe" that suggested Artie and Dana were in a relationship, adding he thought they'd been "through hell" together, and that Dana might no longer trust him because of his recent revelation about his heroin use.
Howard then said he was surprised Artie didn't make a move on Stephanie, the woman who won the Artie Lange Dating Game last week, during their date on Friday, but Artie insisted he and Dana were trying to work out their relationship. As Howard continued to say he didn't believe Artie and Dana would last, Artie mentioned he hadn't revealed every detail about their relationship on the air, so no one except he and Dana knew for sure how they were doing. Howard next turned the conversation to Stephanie, and Artie told him their date was "uneventful."
However, when Howard made a comment about how nice Artie and Stephanie looked together in a picture he saw of them, Artie said Howard was "bugging the sh*t" out of him, adding he thought his comments were insulting to Dana, an allegation Howard denied. Artie proceeded to describe his date with Stephanie, who grew up in Iowa and now lived in St. Louis. After explaining he took Stephanie back to his apartment where they had a few drinks, Artie added the camera crew from Howard TV that followed him for the night annoyed him, but he was ultimately glad they were there so she couldn't make any accusations about his behavior. Artie added he then took Stephanie to one of his favorite restaurants in Hoboken, and that Dana knew about everything and had no problem with it.
