Lori Levine of Entertainment Weekly called in to discuss the Oscars party that the magazine threw yesterday and that was attended by Gary, Mary, Artie, Dana and Beth. When Howard said he was surprised that Artie showed up for the party, Artie commented that Dana really wanted to go, which was the main reason he agreed to attend. Artie went on to say that he and Dana are officially back together and that, although there was no sex involved during their time together this weekend, they did kiss. Gary mentioned that the gift bags given away at the party were great, especially because they contained a pair of boxing gloves, which, he said, was one item his kids have wanted for a while. Lori then pointed out that there were trips and jewelry in the baskets as well, although she wouldn't comment if all guests were given the same baskets, regardless of their levels of fame.
After going over the list of the party's attendees - which included Kurt Loder, Richard Belzer, Andrew McCarthy, James Lipton and Iman - Gary said that it was such a tight squeeze in the room that he had to stand up and move every time someone at his table needed to go to the bathroom. Gary added that, once when he got up, Lori approached him and asked if he was ready to leave, because Billy Baldwin was waiting for a table. Given this, Howard asked Lori why the party couldn't be held at a bigger location to accommodate more people. Lori responded that the reason it's thrown at such a small venue is to keep the intimacy of the event intact. Gary then noted that one thing he likes about Entertainment Weekly parties is that everyone from the magazine is a true fan of the show.
