CRAZY FOR THE PASTE

CRAZY FOR THE PASTE

Gary introduced the next clip by saying people send in bits and songs all the time, and he has delegated the job of listening to them to Sal and Richard. Sal then noted the bit in question, “C*m Paste,” was the least of all the evils from a CD its creator, Greg, sent in, adding he thought Howard might enjoy it for its “so bad, it’s good” quality. However, upon hearing “C*m Paste,” which lasted almost three minutes, Howard referred to it as “the worst thing” he’d ever heard before getting Greg on the phone and, as a joke, offering him a job at SIRIUS because of his comedic “talent.” When the tape was done, Gary said he didn’t understand how Greg, who he noted must’ve been a fan of the show, actually felt his bit was the type of humor Howard would play. Ralph added the segment got “better and better and better” as it went along, while Richard acknowledged “it unfolded perfectly.” Gary went on to mention Howard used to play similar jokes on listeners without revealing at any point he was kidding, and admitted he felt somewhat sorry for Greg because he was on vacation when the call was made, and he figured it probably ruined the rest of his trip.
