Howard introduced a new trivia game, “Who’s the Biggest Howard Stern Fan?,” that pitted Sal, Richie Wilson from Howard TV and a naked Richard Christy against each other. After Richard reported he was naked to “psyche out” his competitors, and Sal admitted to having had a female intern paint his body, Howard announced they were playing for $500 and a copy of Madden 2007. Here were the questions Howard asked the contestants, as well as their answers: • What was Product X? While Sal answered it was a name for Mr. X’s penis, which was wrong, Richard and Richie were also incorrect with their guesses. Howard then reminded everyone Product X was the name of a phone hotline he started at KROCK that gave people access to some uncensored material, a service even Robin said she didn’t remember. • In 1987, on whose answering machine did Howard Stern leave a car-crash sound effect? Richard answered Gary Busey, Richie went with Sam Kinison and Sal answered Andrew Dice Clay, but the answer, as was revealed by Artie, was Matthew Broderick. • What was Howard Stern’s reported salary when he worked at WCCC in Hartford? No one got the answer, which was $12,000 a year. • I am in a club in New Jersey, I just ordered chicken parmesan, and the crowd is chanting, “Howard! Howard!” Where am I? Sal and Richard both incorrectly went with Rascal’s, but Richie got the right response, which was Club Benet. • Who did Howard tie up in 1985 on “Comedy Tonight” and stuff a red S&M ball in his mouth on the air? While Richard went with David Brenner and Sal guessed Richard Belzer, Richie got the correct answer, Bill Boggs. • On what late-night TV show did Howard’s mom make a surprise guest appearance? After only Richie got the right answer, which was David Brenner’s “Nightlife,” Gary reminded Sal and Richard a clip of the appearance was played two weeks ago on “The Friday Show.” • What legendary caller did Howard dedicate “Crucified by the FCC” to? Although none of the participants knew the answer, Robin remembered it was Froggy. • Who played keyboard with her tongue and performed “The Star Spangled Banner” with her rear end at a party the show had? Richie and Sal both correctly guessed Celestine. • What was Ben Stern’s favorite come-home-from-work-time-to-relax cocktail? Again, Richie and Sal were correct with their responses of Rob Roy. • What legendary guest left one day when he thought Howard Stern was making fun of Jesus Christ? All the game’s players correctly answered Tiny Tim. • When Sam Kinison promised to bring Jon Bon Jovi into the studio to make peace with Howard Stern, who was sitting in the studio as that day’s guest? Nobody got the right answer, which was Penn Jillette. • Before Howard worked in radio, what ad agency did he work for? of the contestants answered this question correctly, but Fred recalled the agency was Benton & Bowles. • Who was the newscaster who read the news at WNBC before Robin joined the show? No one was able to get this answer, which was Neil Seavey. • What was the name of the group that recorded the theme song of the show when it was on WNBC? Only Richard was able to get this answer, which was The Double-O Zeros. • What was Robin’s rank in the Air Force? With his answer of captain, Richie got a point for this question. • What was the name of Howard’s college radio show at Boston University? Richard and Sal were both able to get the right answer to this question with their replies of “The King Schmaltz Bagel Hour.” • Who brought ‘Gina Girl to the show to do her “‘Gina Dance”? Sal got the correct answer, Crazy Jerry. • Since both Richie and Sal had answered five questions correctly, Howard offered the following tiebreaker: In June of 1988, Howard sat in for a week on “The New Hollywood Squares.” Who hosted the show that week and what regular host did he replace? While Richie was only able to answer the name of the program’s regular host, which was John Davidson, Sal claimed he knew that name, as well as the other answer, which he correctly said was Shadow Stevens. However, as Sal was celebrating his victory, Mike Gange accused Sal of not having written John Davidson’s last name, and only guessing it because Richie had answered first. Although Sal insisted he didn’t cheat at the game, Gange also pointed out Sal wrote multiple answers on his paper to each of the questions, and only showed Howard the correct ones when he was able to get the right responses. Given this, Howard declared Richie the winner of the game. After listening to Gange, Howard told Sal to leave the studio, and Gary added dishonesty was one characteristic Howard wouldn’t tolerate, regardless of its severity. Howard went on to take a call from Wendy the Retard, who scolded Sal for his behavior. Wendy was then asked two questions – What’s Artie’s last name? and How do you spell “Howard”? – both of which she answered correctly. Because of this, Howard gave her a $500 prize of her own.
