Following a call from Red Peters, who announced tonight would be his third listeners-only submission show on Howard 101, Jon got to this week’s installment of The Best of Fred. In the first clip, Fred utilized his sound effects while Joan Rivers, who was in the studio, talked about how she moved her bowels on a regular basis, while, in the second, he played his “I like to kill deer” byte during a discussion of John Mark Karr. However, when the tapes were done, Gary pointed out to Ralph, who selected the clips, that Howard was the one who was actually in control of the “I like to kill deer clip.” Jon then got to a clip of Fred as Kurt Waldheim Jr. from 1988, in a game called Guess Who’s the Jew. In it, “Kurt” made bigoted remarks about Jewish people, black people and homosexuals, before Howard welcomed into Andrew Dice Clay and Hot Tub Johnny the studio for the first time ever. Although “Kurt” made disparaging remarks about Dice’s Jewish faith, Dice assured “Kurt” that he didn’t have a problem with him. Howard then took a call from a man named Cliff, who, , had to identify which member of “The Golden Girls” – Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty or Betty White – was Jewish for the game. When Cliff picked Betty White as the Jewish person, “Kurt” informed him Estelle Getty was actually the right answer. Because Howard acknowledged the question Cliff had to answer was difficult, he had “Kurt” give him a second chance, so he offered these names: Peter Falk, Peter Allen or Bernadette Peters. Cliff then guessed the answer was Bernadette, but he was incorrect again, because “Kurt” identified Peter Falk as the Jewish person.
