Before Beetlejuice came into the studio, Howard brought up that they recently discovered that Beet seemed to think any inanimate object could be a phone, so he was contemplating having Richard pretend to pass out and then give Beet a water bottle to see if he'd use it to call 911.
Howard also said someone in the studio would have to cover their mouth with their hand to act like they were on the other line with Beetle. Although Howard had high hopes for Beet's visit, he noticed Beet wasn't in a good mood as soon as he sat down.
Beet then explained he was "tired of it," and when Howard asked him if he wanted to sell any copies of his new DVD, "Bad as Can," he replied, "I don't care what you do, Howard."
To try to cheer up Beet, Howard said he had Carmen Electra on the phone, and attempted to give Beetlejuice a "phone," which was actually a sponge. However, Beetle said, "I don't even care" and refused to take the "phone." Despite this, Howard played the role of Carmen and tried to have a conversation with Beetle, but he still wouldn't talk.
