Daryl Hall stopped by to promote his new tour, and Howard asked him where his partner, John Oates was. Daryl said he and John are close - "like brothers" - but they don't get along all the time. Daryl then told the crew how he met John: they ended up in an elevator together after running from a fight in a club. Howard asked Daryl how they came up with the name, so Daryl laughed that it sounded good to him, as his name was first.
He Likes To Kill Deer
Howard asked Daryl about Sara, the woman he dated for over 30 years, so Daryl explained that while they broke up six years ago, he's still recovering. Daryl told the crew that Sara was the subject of – and co-wrote – a lot of his songs, so she lives pretty well. Daryl then opened up about his Lyme disease and the debilitating effect it has had on his life, adding that we should "kill all the f'ing deer. They're like giant rats." Howard jumped on the bandwagon, saying that we should kill all the sharks as well. Daryl objected, as millions of people aren't given diseases by shark ticks, but he confessed that he would support a movement to kill all the rabbits. Howard told Daryl that he might have him cut some public service announcements about the "f'ing deer," but Daryl insisted that he'd rather just be given a machine gun. Daryl then treated the crew to a live performance of "Sara Smile."
