Howard asked Artie if he still stood by his statements about hating Sal, so Artie confessed that he was going to have a hard time liking Sal as much as he used to. Artie noted that he gets treated better than (and paid more than) Sal and Richard because he's smarter, funnier, and "better at every aspect of this business." Artie said it wasn't his problem - just something Sal and Richard were going to have to deal with privately.
Sal said he was happy Artie was giving him the opportunity to develop a friendship again, but some of the callers thought Artie's attempt at reconciliation was a little harsh. Artie admitted that he was a little pompous and arrogant during his overture, but he thought that was what he had to do to get his point across. Richard then began crying and said that the last week had been really hard for him, adding that he'd never talk behind Artie's back again. Sal then invited Artie out to dinner with him and Richard, and Artie accepted. The three ended their reconciliation with a hug.
