Howard mentioned he'd heard Artie was giving money to a number of people on the show, and Artie admitted he has been writing some checks lately.
Artie went on to say, though, that he wasn't "just handing out money," and that he'd only given two checks for $1,000 each to two of his Battle of the Blob teammates and "a few thousand dollars" to Sal for the injury he sustained after he fell off the stage during a comedy show they did last month in Florida.
This led to a discussion about Artie's former drug habit, as well as his weight gain. Artie then commented he'd never have gastric bypass/band surgery in order to lose weight, but acknowledged he'd consider it if he ever got to 400 pounds.
However, Artie added that, at 296 pounds, he was "ready to explode," and that he didn't know where he'd be able to "put" another 100 pounds on his body.
Artie went on to acknowledge he'd never been heavier than he was now, and that he was "in a rut" of ordering food every afternoon...and eating it. In fact, Artie also said his weight was so out of control that he didn't care about his appearance even when he was intimate with new women.
