While Jimmy was talking about how he was filling in for Regis Philbin tomorrow on "Live with Regis and Kelly," Howard mentioned he could smell Artie's French toast, and revealed he'd only put two packets of syrup on it.
This led Howard to ask Artie if he'd weigh himself again this week – just seven days after he weighed 303 pounds – and he said he would once he was finished with his breakfast. Howard then played the infamous clip of Jimmy crying on his talk show over John Ritter's death, and had a discussion with him about how attractive he thought his girlfriend, Sarah, was.
Howard also mentioned that Vinnie Favale had told him that ABC had put a billboard for his show outside of The Ed Sullivan Theatre, where "Late Show with David Letterman" is taped, and Vinnie called in to report the posters were painted over. Jimmy then acknowledged he was "embarrassed" by the controversy and added it was the "worst thing" that'd happened to him all year.
However, because the conversation steered away from Artie, and because it was almost 11 o'clock before Robin started her news, Artie never got on the "weighing machine."
