Howard took a call from Dr. Jules, the man who came up to the studio on Thursday to help Jeff the Drunk and his "blister" problem. Dr. Jules said Jeff's condition wasn't life threatening but was still dangerous, and that he was going to be admitted at the Albany Medical Center tomorrow to deal with the problem. Dr. Jules also noted he thought Jeff's condition should've been causing him more pain than it was, and referred to the problem as "a carbuncle."
Jeff the Drunk got on the line and reported he really was going to the hospital tomorrow, and that he was on his way back to Albany following his birthday weekend in Baltimore. Jeff then acknowledged the condition was painful, but that he was "used to it." As Jeff began swearing at Dr. Jules while yelling that he was going to the hospital tomorrow, Howard pointed out that he appreciated the way Jeff was so "belligerent" despite all the help everyone was offering him. When Dr. Jules suggested part of Jeff's carbuncle was a result of poor hygiene, Jeff handed the phone to "his assistant," who promised Howard that he'd personally be taking Jeff to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Artie mentioned he spent time with Dr. Jules over the weekend in Miami, and that he thought the doctor had a great life seeing as he worked just two days a week in New York and spent the other 5 days "hanging out" in Florida.
