Howard reported that Will really came down hard on Sal at The Wrap-Up Show yesterday.
Robin noted that Will doesn't know what a relationship takes. Howard played the clip of Will saying that Sal has no balls anymore because of the way he has handled things with his wife.
Everyone agreed that Sal defended himself perfectly, and Artie added that Sal shouldn't care what the "gaggle of 7th grade girls" in the back office think. Sal came in and Howard took the opportunity to applaud him. Will explained that he thought Sal was taking too much responsibility for his wife's "emotional friend."
Howard asked Will what Sal was supposed to do, and Will replied that Sal had already messed up by talking about his marital issues on-air for hours at a time.
Will claimed that Sal always complains about his marriage in the office, but now that he has what Will though was an "out," he's decided he loves his wife. Sal responded that she's the mother of his children, his wife, and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, adding that he's met lots of people who've successfully repaired their marriages. Robin agreed, saying the happiest people she knows all had serious trials in their marriage. Artie said that he would've reacted like Will, but hopes he would've seen through it and done what Sal's doing.
Fred said the "emotional friend" was also married, which makes him an asshole twice over. Sal replied that the last thing on his mind was the "emotional friend," which led Artie to note that he felt Sal was being very mature.
Will claimed that he'd heard "things" from Sal off-air, but Sal seemed oddly "desensitized" now.
Sal said he hoped Will's upcoming marriage turned into a nightmare. Will shrugged and asked why Sal was in studio talking about all this when he wants his marriage to work. Everyone agreed that Sal was still compulsive.
