Howard got The National Enquirer's Mike Walker on the line, as he does every Thursday, to play "The Gossip Game," in which Mike reads four gossip items – three (allegedly) true, and one false – and the crew has to guess the fake. Mike then read this week's stories:
1. Jason Lewis' used yoga mat fetched $450 at an informal auction.
2. Jeremy Piven drained the battery of a stranger's cell phone after leaving his own in his car.
3. Paula Abdul saved her dog from a coyote.
4. Reese Witherspoon is too short to ride a Vespa.
Howard and Artie thought the first story was too ridiculous, Robin couldn't believe that Paula Abdul would confront a coyote, and Fred said the Reese Witherspoon story contained too many suspicious details. When the crew was done debating their picks, Mike announced that Howard and Artie had guessed correctly.
