Howard welcomed Rodney King and Simon "The Renegade" Aouad, a former police officer, to promote their upcoming boxing match. Rodney laughed that he'd easily beat anyone Simon's size: "He's gone." Simon pointed to the 30lb lock he wore around his neck: "When it comes off, the renegade comes out. I'm an animal...I break bones for a living."
Rodney kept laughing, saying he was already "unleashed. Ready to go." Howard thought Simon seemed angrier than Rodney, but Rodney held up a steady hand in protest and pointed at Simon: "You see his hands shaking? No shake whatsoever." Rodney said the fight wasn't about striking back at the officers who'd beat him 17 years ago: "As far as the get-back thing, that's far gone..the revenge part is gone. The sport of it is still there."
Simon is Hilarious
Howard turned to Simon, who explained his 'Renegade' moniker: "They call me 'Demolition Man.' I'm gonna demolition everything." Rodney joined in the trash-talk: "The best thing the guy's got going for him – I'm wearing gloves." Rodney also promised that he was a different beast in the ring, and Artie hoped so: "Against those five cops, you looked like a pussy." Simon continued to crack the crew up with his boasts: "The Renegade is not scared of anybody. I might hit him so hard he turns to dust. I'm not doing it for the money. I wanna break every bone in his body...he's old! I hit him in the kidney and he's gonna pee himself. I'm putting him back on the ground...I'm gonna rape him. I'm gonna molest him."
Who's Sexing Rodney?
Howard asked Simon if he'd wear a rubber for said molestation, and Simon confirmed it: "Absolutely. I'm always strapped." Howard invited Rodney's fiancee, Donna, into the studio and asked her if she was worried about the fight. Donna denied it ("I got faith in him.") and also claimed that Rodney continued to get "better and better" in the bedroom.
