Early in show, Howard questioned why someone with as few responsibilities as Scott 'The Engineer' would need an intern, so Scott came in to explain how his intern manages the CDs they record the show on: "He's got to change them and track them. They have to be changed every hour...[and then] he uploads them to where they have to go."
Howard remembered that one of Scott's old female interns had once given him a massage, but Scott just laughed, playing dumb: "One of them might've."
Gary came in to report that Evan, one of the show's other engineers, often asks the same question--but wouldn't come in to the studio: "I think he doesn't want to say anything detrimental to his colleague."
At Howard's behest, Evan came in to explain that Scott didn't need an intern: "From a practical standpoint, he doesn't. I guess if Scott is working on a project in [his studio], to stop what he's doing and walk out...I can sort of understand."
Ronnie Gets Muzzled
Howard played a clip of Ronnie explaining his feud with Scott's intern Rich on yesterday's Wrap-Up Show: "This is not a church. We work at The Howard Stern Show. Everybody gets thrown under the bus."
Robin was repulsed by Ronnie's Stern Show 101 lecture: "Ugh. Why does he have a philosophy?"
Howard thought Ronnie was nowhere close to right: "He has no concept of what I want those interns doing."
Howard went on to propose that Ronnie wear a Hannibal Lecter mask: "People will say, 'Why is that guy wearing a muzzle?'
And we'll say, 'Because he doesn't know how to interact with people.'"
