Simon Cowell Calls Howard and Clears the Air

Howard started off the show with a big reveal: “Simon Cowell called me last night before ‘Idol’ went on the air.”

Howard said Simon wanted to clear the air: “He’s a big fan and likes me.”

Simon told Howard he was just having fun with the press and didn’t want any misinterpreted jokes to escalate into a feud.

Howard told him he was having fun too–even extending a dinner invite: “And then I laughed and he laughed. Cause it was all horseshit.”
