Ralph called in to say he was worried about Robin's planned trip to Afghanistan--Robin wants to reach out to Afghani women--saying: "This has got to be the craziest, most narcissistic thing she's ever done."
Robin said she just wanted to connect with the women and tell them about Western life: "They don't even know we exist! They don't know women live differently in different places."
Howard sided with Ralph, saying the Islam nation's male-dominated society was impenetrable: "It's not as if we haven't been trying. The problem is they're oppressed by the men who are in power."
Robin said she had to try herself, saying she wanted to show the women "that there's something to hope for. Something to aspire to. I'm not planning to go there and get myself killed."
Robin said she wasn't going to submit either: "I'll never wear a burka. I refuse."
Howard hoped to get Robin to go on a safer trip: "I'm leading a mission to Hawaii!"
