Richard Lewis Confuses Fred for Jackie

After Richard left, Howard said he wasn’t joking when he had walked in and called Fred, Jackie–Richard had really mistaken Fred for Jackie: “As he’s leaving–this was off-mic–Richard Lewis turns to Fred and says, ‘Alright, I’ll see ya Jackie.’

You know, doing that joke again. And Fred got annoyed and said, ‘Alright, I’ll see ya, Belzer.’

And Richard goes, ‘Wow, that was a low blow’…so Richard leaves [and] five seconds later, he comes back and says, ‘Oh my god. Fred, I apologize. I thought you were Jackie. I don’t see so well.”

Robin didn’t understand how Richard could’ve made such a massive mistake: “

Jackie hasn’t been with the show for years!”

But Howard thought Richard was being honest. Fred agreed with Howard, saying he knew there had been a misunderstanding when Richard didn’t roll with the give-and-take of busting balls: “When I said ‘See you, Belzer,’ you could just tell he got really, really super pissed.”
