Howard seemed distracted, but was loathe to say why: “Benjy’s dressed up weird. Like almost in a Halloween costume.”
Howard thought Benjy’s long wig and eyeliner was a sick ploy: “I’m not going to address it, Benjy…I know you’re trying to get on the show and do some weird stuff. But dude, I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, he’s trying. He’s trying. What is going on? Tell me what’s happening. This is for my benefit, right?”
Benjy hoped Howard would look at him with fresh eyes: “I know this is shocking for you but do I look that weird if you just looked at me?”
Fred was puzzled by Benjy’s “integrated hair” weave: “It looks like he has cancer.” And the more Benjy tried to claim his look was not in jest, the angrier Howard got: “You look stupid.”
Blotchy Osbourne
Howard joked that Benjy might confuse Sharon Osbourne, one of today’s scheduled guests: “That’s Blobby Osbourne. Blotchy Osbourne.” Robin didn’t understand why Benjy’s girlfriend continued to insist on changing his look: “She puts this stuff on you and you make out, is that what you’re saying?” Benjy deadpanned that Elisa was also considering some genetic manipulation (“She’s looking into stem-cell stuff too.”), but Robin thought she already had: “He looks like when you put a human and an animal together and you don’t know which parts are which.”
