Gary said his local Parks & Rec board interviewed him last night, and one board member refused to vote, saying she objected to Gary’s day job: “What I’m upset about is entertainment where women are not treated with respect.”

But the vote count was 8 for, 1 against, and 2 abstentions: “So I’m in.” One board member nailed it, asking those who refused to vote why they were so upset: “He seems to know what he’s doing. He wants to do the job. Who cares what he does for a living?”
