Ronnie Didn’t Intend to Offend

Early in the show, Ronnie the Limo Driver defended his holiday poem yet again: “There’s no way it’s offensive. I’m sorry. I really don’t care because I didn’t–it wasn’t meant to be offensive, ok?” Howard said it was rude to lead with a straw man insult (“A lot of people think you’re an asshole right? Why wouldn’t I bring it up at your party?”), so Ronnie bristled: “I didn’t know you became so sensitive all of a sudden. I thought that Howard Stern had some sort of a sense of humor.” Howard tried a few more examples: “A lot of people say Ronnie’s a stupid Jew, but I don’t think so. A lot of people say Ronnie is a big dumbass who just drives a limo, but I don’t think that. A lot people say Ronnie’s moustache makes him look like an old billygoat, but by the way, I don’t think that. I think he’s a great guy. Are you offended by that?” Ronnie was not, so Howard threw up his hands: “Then I can’t make my point.”
