Howard started the show by dismissing Hurricane Sandy: "Nothing's happening. And yours truly is predicting that nothing will happen. There will be high winds and a little bit of rain. That's it."
Shuli, who was sitting in for the week, noted that several staffers had stayed at a hotel near the studio--even Tim Sabean: "Tim lives in the city and still got a hotel room. I think he didn't want to walk as far as he normally has to."
Tim rushed in to explain that he'd expected more staffers to stay in town: "I had to use the room because I didn't want it to go to waste." (Most staffers who refused a room didn't make it in, including Doug Goodstein, Scott Depace, Scott Salem and Richard Christy.)
Shuli laughed that he'd eaten lunch with Tim before checking into the hotel: "He got matzoh ball soup the size of a bucket. Then they brought in his mile-high stack of meat."
