Joe Overline stopped by to show Howard his Ugly Meter Pro app--one of many his firm has developed: "We do all kinds of stuff. This was just the popular fluke." Joe said it was a joke app at first--a way, for instance, to prank a friend--but the Fox News-es of the world reported as if it performed as advertised: "All these shows were having us on the air and nobody really cared if it was real or not." To date, he's sold the app 300,000 to 400,000 times 99 cents a pop. Apple keeps just 30 cents of each sale, netting his company huge profits. And now, thanks to a year's worth of work, they've updated the app to actually take your/your friend's photo and analyze facial symmetry. The app's already been tested on Angelina Jolie (who scored 89 out of 100), Brad Pitt (91) and Beth O (92).
