Maroon 5 stopped by to promote their new album, 'Overexposed', and Howard immediately asked lead singer Adam Levine about his ex, Victoria's Secret model Anna Vyalitsyna. Robin remembered that Adam even brought her with him the last time he was on the show: "How long after you left the studio did you break up?" Howard offered to play a clip of said appearance--in which Adam even said he'd like to have a baby with Anna--but Adam begged him to stop: "Please don't. It's a fresh wound." Later, Howard noted that Adam was now dating Anna's friend, another Victoria's Secret model, Behati Prinsloo--so Adam cut in: "It wasn't like I was expecting all this to happen. … They're not exactly friends. They're just acquaintances." Adam said the split was mutual: "We had issues and most of it had to do with [how] we never saw each other." The absence didn't, as the saying goes, make the heart grow fonder--it made them both miserable: "It depends how much absence you're talking about."
On Christina Aguilera
Asked about reports of Christina Aguilera's diva-like behavior on 'The Voice', Adam insisted it was old news: "We had a rough start, the two of us, but I'll tell you this...we have found our stride. And this is not bullshit." Over the past two seasons, the show's four 'coaches' have bonded, and Christina has curbed her chronic tardiness: "She hasn't done that in a long time. … I believe we're an indispensable unit now." Howard said Adam and the band had even gone on to record a #1 hit, 'Moves Like Jagger', with Christina, so Adam explained its tenuous inception: "I was super behind it. I actually had to sell it to some of the guys in the band who were not really feeling [it]. It was a huge risk. Our label didn't want us to release it." Coupled with 'The Voice', Adam's power is on the rise: "I have so much more pull now, in the band, because of those two decisions working out."
