Howard noted that Ronnie was still fuming over yesterday's Dale Yeager interview, so Ronnie burst in to question the veracity of Dale's pop psychology--Ronnie said his buddies in the department run into "academy" boys like Dale all the time: "They know nothing. They're f***ing booksmart. That's all they are. They never spent a day on the street. … F' him. I don't have to come in and patronize him." Jon Leiberman reported Ronnie recently purchased a "pace car" Corvette, modeled after those used in the Indianapolis 500. Howard seized the opportunity: "I could do this all day!" Ronnie bristled: "You're making fun of me. You're making fun of it [but] I like cars. I'm sorry it bothers you so much." Howard compared Ronnie's posturing to that of another aging radio personality: "Imus wears cowboy outfits, but he's not a cowboy."
