Natalie Maines stopped by to promote her new album, 'Mother,' and immediately had to answer for her first marriage: "I felt like I was following the steps of life. I grew up in a small town. Lubbock, TX. 22 was a long time to wait to get married."
Natalie said her first husband was a struggling musician, and the success of the Dixie Chicks strained their marriage: "And I was never going to have him be in our band or anything. I knew enough about the music business to know that wasn't a good road to go down. 'Hey guys, let my husband play the bass.'"
